Returns & Refunds
You may cancel your order and request a refund within seven (7) days of placing the order.
The only cost which may be levied on you is the direct cost of returning the goods to our warehouse, banking fees and packaging.
We will not consider refunds or store credits after the seven (7) day return policy.
We do not accept exchanges, returns or refunds for goods purchased during a sale.
Regrettably, we do not accept returns, exchanges or refunds for pre-orders, custom orders, containers on the water and containers in production. We are a small family run business and cannot afford to ship goods that clients pre-order only to return after delivery.
Products that are arriving in future-dated containers will be considered a pre-order.
Cooling off period - You may cancel your order within 24hours of placing it and request an immediate refund. No additional charges will be levied against you.
Packaging & Boxes
We support a local initiative that supplies us with barely used second-hand boxes.
Your order will be bubble-wrapped and then placed into a recycled cardboard box.
Would you please let us know if you would like your order placed into a new double or triple walled box?
We will send you the price list, which comes directly from the box manufacturing company. We will add the cost to your invoice.
All products are handmade, one piece at a time, using natural materials.
You may find irregularities, colour variances and imperfections in our products.
Splits and cracks may occur when wood shrinks as it dries and should not be considered a flaw in our product.
No two pieces will ever be exactly alike due to the handmade nature of our products.
We do not accept returns for the reasons mentioned above.
Rattan furniture will deteriorate very quickly when exposed to the elements.
We recommend treating all furniture with Teak oil or Woodoc to maintain its strength and prevent splits and cracks.
Eight Degrees South cannot take responsibility for furniture you do not maintain.
Rattan will lighten in colour if left in the Sun. This is normal, and not a defect.
Tiles are hand cut and vary in size and thickness. An experienced tiler must install Sukabumi pool tiles.
Courier Related Damages
All delivery quotations include insurance from our warehouse to your delivery address.
If your order arrives damaged, please reject the delivery and allow the courier to return the parcel to their warehouse.
Would you please take a photo of the damaged item and send it to our logistics manager within 24hours?
We will courier a replacement within seven working days if the item is in stock.
Should the item be out of stock, we will gladly give you a store credit for another product or refund you in full.
We do not insure parcels collected by your courier or by you in person.
We inspect the parcel before it leaves our warehouse and encourage you and your courier to do the same. Please note, we will not accept returns for damages that occur in transit by your courier.
Our return policy will not cover goods exported outside of South Africa.
Our insurance company will not insure mirrors. These products will be shipped at your own risk.
Collection & Delivery
If your order is in stock it will be ready for delivery or in-store collection within three (3) working days.
You may collect your order from our Westlake store, free of charge.
Our logistics manager will contact you by email to confirm a suitable collection time.
If you would like a delivery quote, please select "request delivery quote" during checkout.
You will receive a quotation by email, which you may approve or decline.
You must make payment for the courier directly into the courier's bank account.
You will be charged a handling fee of 20% if you pay the delivery fee into 8°South bank account
If you delay payment or request a later delivery date, this will not entitle you to waive our seven-day return policy.
Your order will be ready to ship within three days of receiving your payment.

We do not accept cash on our premises.
We accept Credit Card, Debit Card or Instant EFT for online orders through Payfast.
You may pay in-store with a debit or credit card.
For offline payments, please select "pay offline" and complete the transaction by EFT or cash deposit into our nominated bank account.
Payment is due immediately for orders placed online.
We will delete unpaid orders at the end of each day and place the stock back into our online/retail store.
Please allow two working days for our account department to allocate your payment before arranging collection or delivery.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is rattan suitable for outdoors
While rattan can be used outdoors, it should not be left out from season to season, as it will wear out and break apart.
Are you open on Sundays?
Our warehouse is open Monday-Friday between 07h30 and 16h00 and the first Saturday of each month.
Are your products made locally?

Is that your best price?
It is very difficult to predict the landed cost of our products before they arrive in South Africa as shipping prices are unpredictable. We do our best to update our pricing regularly.
Do you sell the electrical fitting with your lampshades?
No. You can purchase this fitting from any electrical or hardware store for R45.00
Do you have a retail store in JHB?
No. We have two warehouses in Cape Town, and the online store. We can arrange delivery to most parts of South Africa.
Do you do lay-bys?

We do want to compete with our trade clients. We can recommend a few companies you can hire our products through.
