Shipping and In-Store Collection

Shipping on most pendants is included to the following central business districts;

Johannesburg, Pretoria, Durban, Port Elizabeth, Cape Town and Bloemfontein

Certain pendants do not qualify for free shipping, specifically those that are bulky or already discounted.

Shipping on furniture is not included. If shipping is excluded it will be noted in the product description.

 

Please read the full product description before proceeding to checkout to find out if delivery is included/excluded.  

Delivery is automatically excluded for the following reasons

  1. The delivery address is an outlying area or an area not mentioned above

  2. A discount coupon or trade discount was passed/used

Courier payment

Our company will email you the most cost-effective quote for your approval.

The invoice can be paid directly to our courier as we do not add a mark-up for this service.

Our company will handle the logistics on your behalf.

Once you have paid the courier please email our logistics manager your proof of payment

Insurance

Your order is insured for the full invoice value from door-to-door

Mirrors are not insured and will be shipped at your own risk. Eight Degrees South will package the mirror to our best ability but cannot be responsible for in-transit damages which are out of our control

Tracking

Our logistics manager will email you the tracking/waybill number as soon as your order has been shipped

You may use this number to track your parcel until it reaches your door

Packaging

Orders are bubble-wrapped and then placed into a recycled cardboard box which is closed with our branded 8 Degrees South Tape. 

If you would like your order packed into a newly manufactured box, please email us within 2 hours of ordering and we will send you the price list which comes directly from the box manufacturing company.

 

The cost of your box will be added to your invoice for payment.

In-store pick-up

In-store pick up is free. You will receive an email confirming that your order is ready for pick up

Please make an appointment prior to arriving as we are not always open to the public

Delivery Time

Your order will be packed and shipped from Cape Town within 3-7 working days

Returns and Refunds

 

Handmade disclaimer

All products are handmade, one piece at a time using natural materials.

Any irregularities, colour variances or imperfections in our product should not be considered as flaws but confirm this process. Splits and cracks can occur when wood shrinks as it dries and should not be considered a flaw in our product. No two pieces will ever be exactly alike due to the hand made nature of our products. All tiles are natural stone, hand cut and vary in thickness and finish. 

 

Cancellation

You may cancel your order and request a full refund within 24hours of placing it. We will refund you by EFT into your preferred bank account less our banking/transaction fee within 14 working days

Sale 

We do not accept returns on items purchased using a discount coupon or in-store during a sale

Custom made and pre-orders

We do not accept returns on custom manufactured or pre-ordered items. Products that are in manufacturing or still on the water will be clearly listed as "pre-order or future dated"  and will be considered a pre-order.

 

Container ship delays (pre-orders and custom made)

We do our best to track our containers accurately from origin to Cape Town harbour.
It is common to experience weather delays during Cape Towns windy season which affects the docking and offloading at CT port control.  We endeavour to update our customers regularly

 

Eight Degrees South has no control over these delays

Damaged by our courier

All orders are insured by 8 Degrees South at our own cost from our warehouse to your delivery address. In the event that your order arrives and it has been damaged in transit please reject the delivery and allow the courier to return the parcel to their own warehouse.

 

If possible, please take a photo and send it to jodi@eightdegreessouth.com within 24hours. 

 

Our office will request that the courier returns the parcel to our warehouse for closer inspection.

 

If the item is in stock we will courier a replacement to you within 7 working days.

 

Should the item be out of stock we will gladly give you a store credit for another product or refund you for the purchase in full.

Damaged by your courier

We do not insure parcels that are collected by your own courier or by you in person.

We inspect the parcel prior to it leaving our warehouse and encourage your courier to do the same. Please note, we will not accept returns for damages which occur in transit by your own courier. ​

Re-exportation

Items that are re-exported by you (the customer) to another country are done so at your own risk.

We do not take responsibility for any damages which may occur once the item has left South Africa. 

 

Maintenance

It is not suitable to leave our solid wood and Rattan furniture stored in a uncontrolled climate for an  extended period of time. We recommend treating our furniture every second week with Teak oil or Woodoc to maintain its strength and to prevent splits and cracks. Eight Degrees South cannot take responsibility for furniture that is not maintained by you.

Methods

You can pay via PayFast using your Credit Card, Debit Card or by Instant EFT

If you do not wish to pay via PayFast you may select "pay offline" by EFT or cash deposit

If you select "pay offline" you will need to send us your proof of payment within 2 hours

Once your payment has been made our online store will automatically allocate the payment and our system will send you a Tax invoice to confirm your order.
