Handcrafted Individuality: Each of our items is meticulously handcrafted, one piece at a time. This process ensures that every product has its own distinct charm, complete with colour variations, charming irregularities, and the unique imperfections that only handcrafted items can boast.

Embracing Natural Beauty: Our wooden products may develop natural splits and cracks as the wood undergoes the drying process. These features are not flaws; rather, they are hallmarks of authenticity, showcasing the natural evolution and character of the materials used.

One-of-a-Kind Pieces: The artisanal nature of our work means no two pieces are ever exactly alike. Each item is a testament to the unique journey of creation, from raw material to finished product.

Return Policy: Due to the individuality and artisanal quality of our products, we do not accept returns based on the natural variations and imperfections inherent in each piece. We believe these attributes are what make our products truly special and unique.

Returns, Refunds, and Exchanges

Cancellation and Refund Request: You can cancel your order and request a refund within seven days of placing it. We understand that circumstances can change, and we're here to accommodate your needs.

Refund Deductions: When processing a refund, please be aware of the following deductions from your refund amount:

The direct cost of returning the goods to our warehouse.
Banking fees associated with the transaction.
Packaging expenses.


Refund Eligibility Period: It’s important to note that we can only consider refunds or store credits within the seven-day period following your order. Unfortunately, requests made after this period cannot be accommodated.

Non-Refundable Fees: Shipping and handling fees are non-refundable.

Exceptions to Refund Policy:

There are certain items for which we cannot accept exchanges, returns, or refunds:

Sale Items: Goods purchased during a sale.
Pre-Orders: Products categorized as pre-orders, including items expected to arrive in future-dated containers.
Custom Orders: Items that are customized or personalized for you.
Containers in Transit or Production: Products in containers currently on the water or in production.

Defective goods

Refund Eligibility: Refunds at Eight Degrees are exclusively available for products with manufacturing defects. A manufacturing defect is defined as an unintended flaw in the product.

Assessment of Defects: If you receive a product you believe is defective, please inform us within three business days. The determination of a defect is at the sole discretion of Eight Degrees.

Refund Method: For products deemed defective, Eight Degrees will issue a store credit as a refund. Please note, this will be an online store credit and not a cash refund.

Refund for Non-Defective Products: Eight Degrees reserves the right to decline refund requests for products that are not defective.

Processing Time: The issuance of store credit for a defective product may take 5-7 business days following the receipt of the returned product at Eight Degrees.

Non-Refundable Fees: Shipping and handling charges are non-refundable under this policy.

Expiration of Store Credit: The online store credit must be redeemed within one calendar month from the date of issue.

Container ship delays

At Eight Degrees, we are dedicated to ensuring timely and efficient deliveries. Our team exerts every reasonable effort to dispatch your orders swiftly and in a manner that aligns with commercial best practices. However, it's important to note the following:

Delivery Estimates: While we strive to meet them, please be aware that all delivery dates and estimates are not guaranteed. Various factors can influence delivery times, and we appreciate your understanding in this regard.

Liability for Delays: Eight Degrees is not liable for any delays in delivery. In the event of a delayed delivery, we kindly request your patience and understanding. As our valued customer, you agree not to hold Eight Degrees responsible for any late deliveries, nor shall such delays give rise to order cancellations.

Acceptance of Delayed Deliveries: We understand that delays can be inconvenient, yet we expect that orders will be accepted upon arrival, regardless of any delays. Refusal of delivery due to delay is not permissible under our policy.

Pre-Ordered Products: All sales of pre-ordered products are final. We carefully curate and plan these orders, and as such, we do not offer refunds for pre-ordered items. By making a purchase, you acknowledge and agree that refunds are not available under any circumstances.

Cooling-Off Period (CPA)

You can cancel your order within 24 hours of placing it and request a refund. In this case, we will only deduct banking charges.

Courier related damages

Insurance Cost: The prices quoted on our website for courier services do not include insurance. The cost of insurance depends on the value of your order, which we can only determine after your order is placed. Rest assured, we will provide you with a prompt insurance quote once we have this information, ensuring your order is fully covered from our warehouse to your delivery address.

Handling Damaged Deliveries: In the unlikely event that you notice any damage to your order upon delivery, we request that you do not accept the parcel. Instead, allow the courier to return it to their warehouse. For documentation purposes, please take a clear photograph of the damaged item and send it to our logistics manager within 24 hours.

Replacement and Refund Policy: Should you receive a damaged item and it’s in stock, we will fast-track the dispatch of a replacement within seven days. If the item is not available, you have the option of receiving a store credit for an alternative product or a full refund.

Exclusions: Our insurance coverage does not extend to parcels collected by a courier of your choosing or when you opt to collect the item in person. We ensure thorough inspection of parcels before dispatch and encourage you and your courier to do the same upon collection. Please note that our insurance provider does not cover mirrors, so these products are shipped at your own risk.

Goods re-exported

Our return policy does not cover goods exported outside South Africa. 

Store Credit

Any on-line store credit must redeemed on or before the lapse of one calendar month from date of issue.
